My go to song

When things get too overwhelming and I need something to help me get back up again, this is my go to song. I crank the volume up and sing my heart out, whether it’s in the car or singing at home. If I can’t sing (singing in a doctor’s waiting room isn’t really the done thing), I plug my headphones in and let the words flow into me. It works every time. Without fail, things will become clearer and peace will start rising within me.

I'd encourage you to give it a good and see whether the song has the same effect on you as me.

These words were penned by Horatio Spafford 145 years ago and have been reworked into this very cool and singable version. If you don't know the backstory to the song, check it out as it's worth reading. If anyone knew about tough times, it was Horatio.

It Is Well With My Soul
(Hillsong Worship)

When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot, You have taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul

But Lord it's for Thee, for Thy coming we wait
The sky not the grave is our goal
Oh, trump of the angel, oh, voice of the Lord
Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul

You are the Rock on which I stand
By Your grace, it is well
My hope is sure in Christ my Saviour
It is well with my soul

It is well with my soul
It is well, it is well with my soul
